Mission Statement:

To ensure that the community of the June Lake Loop develops into a moderately-sized, year-round community that preserves the existing natural environment, mountain lifestyle, and ambience of the area. This will be accomplished in accordance with the wishes of the members, property owners, residents and businesses and in conformity with the Mono County General Plan and June Lake Area Plan (JLAP) in existence at the time of the formation of the June Lake Advocates.

Goals/Objectives:

1. Educate community members regarding the impact on the June Lake Loop due to proposed major developments, with first priority on the Rodeo Grounds project by Intrawest.

2. Ensure that local governmental authorities, elected officials, and Intrawest are informed of support or non-support for the Rodeo Grounds project by the majority of residents and homeowners.

3. Ensure compliance by local authorities (through political, public and legal action) with the letter and spirit of local land use regulations as embodied in the existing Mono County General Plan and June Lake Area Plan.

4. Develop relationships with and gain support from other organizations that have common interests with the JLA.

5. Institute membership and fund raising capabilities to support these goals and objectives.
