JLA Specific Action List:
Timetable-Prepare a detailed timetable with all actionable items that the developer will need to meet in order to obtain approval to start the project.
Documentation and Plans- Ensure that the JLA has possession of all relevant plans and proposals regarding this project filed with all public agencies.
Strong Board and Support Organizations-Recruit individuals from within and outside the community to provide resources and guidance to the Board and Advisory Board and for staffing of Committees.
Financial Management -Implement proper accounting controls and reporting to ensure that the Board of Directors of JLA is performing its fiduciary responsibilities to its members.
Communications-
1. Prepare timely newsletter for members and for the community detailing the latest actions, views and opinions regarding the project.
2. Develop a media and editorial program
3. Make presentations and send all relevant literature to elected officials outlining JLA position on the project.
4. Hold community meetings to promote JLA agenda and elicit support.
5. Conduct letter writing campaign directed at elected officials.
6. Develop and update JLA Web site.
7. Periodically survey citizens for opinions on major development issues.
Monitor meetings -of local authorities and report results to membership--Supervisors, Planning Commission, June Lake Citizens Advisory Committee, June Lake PUD, June Lake Fire Commission, June Lake Chamber of Commerce.
Critical Issues -Develop positions and communicate to membership a list of critical issues regarding the Rodeo Grounds project (building height, density, water, sewage, fire, roads, etc.).
Attend and make presentations to relevant groups to gain support for JLA positions.
Membership Drive-Exploit successes of JLA Survey mailing list, advertise in the local newspaper, and hand out flyers to vacationers.
Fund Raising Campaign-Increase level of contributions through membership drives, and through telephone and personal contact.
Legal Counsel-Identify and secure support from legal counsel specializing in CEQA and land use regulations.
